Overview
BulkBro respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains the information BulkBro processes, why it is used, and the services involved when you use the app.
Information You Provide
Depending on the features you use, BulkBro may process information such as:
- age;
- sex;
- height;
- weight and weight history;
- activity level;
- weight-gain goal and related preferences;
- calorie and protein logs;
- food and meal descriptions;
- saved meals;
- calorie-target and weekly-result history;
- app settings and preferences.
This information is used to provide BulkBro's tracking, calorie-target, progress, and weekly adaptive-target functionality.
Local App Data
Much of BulkBro's personal tracking state is stored locally on the user's device.
This includes tracking and progress information required for the app to operate.
Deleting the app may remove locally stored information unless that information is otherwise retained through Apple, a connected service, or device backup.
BulkBro may also provide in-app controls for deleting locally stored app data.
AI-Assisted Meal Estimation
When a user uses AI-assisted meal estimation, information from the submitted meal description is sent to BulkBro's backend infrastructure so that the meal can be analyzed and estimated.
This may include typed meal descriptions or transcribed meal-description text necessary to generate the estimate.
Meal estimates may include estimated calories, protein, portions, or related meal information.
BulkBro does not use AI meal estimation to provide medical diagnosis.
Speech Input
If a user chooses to describe a meal using speech, BulkBro uses Apple's speech-recognition functionality to convert speech into text.
Microphone and speech-recognition permissions are controlled by iOS.
The resulting meal-description text may then be processed in the same way as typed meal text for AI-assisted meal estimation.
Adaptive Calorie Engine
BulkBro's adaptive calorie engine calculates the next calorie target from the current completed seven-day week.
For an evaluated week, the calculation uses:
- average calorie intake across the seven explicitly completed daily logs;
- opening and closing weight for that week;
- your effective weekly weight-gain goal.
Previous weekly results and historical weights are not used to calculate the next calorie target.
Historical weights, calorie targets, and weekly results may remain stored on your device for progress history, Learning information, and other app features.
The adaptive calorie engine is application logic and is not an AI medical diagnosis system. Your complete weight history is not sent to an AI provider for this calorie-target calculation, and the adaptive calorie target is not AI-generated.
Analytics and App Measurement
BulkBro uses analytics and app-measurement services to understand product usage, measure events, diagnose product issues, and improve the app.
These services may include:
- Google Firebase Analytics;
- Google Firebase Crashlytics;
- Apple-provided App Store and subscription services;
- Apple Ads attribution for measuring Apple Search Ads campaigns.
Depending on the service and device settings, information may include app interactions, device/app information, purchase or subscription events, and similar usage information.
Tracking
BulkBro does not use data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Apple Ads attribution may provide campaign-level identifiers for an install attributed to an Apple Search Ads campaign. BulkBro uses this information for aggregate acquisition measurement.
Firebase and Backend Services
BulkBro uses Firebase-related infrastructure for functions including:
- backend requests;
- analytics;
- authentication of app/backend requests;
- application-integrity protection.
Firebase Authentication and App Check may process technical identifiers or tokens necessary to authenticate or protect requests.
Firebase Authentication does not necessarily mean a user creates a normal visible BulkBro account.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Paid BulkBro subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit.
BulkBro may receive information such as subscription status, entitlement state, product selection, and purchase events.
This information is used to provide paid functionality and measure subscription performance.
BulkBro does not directly receive or store full payment-card details for App Store purchases. Apple processes payment information according to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
Notifications
If notifications are enabled, BulkBro may schedule local reminders on the user's device.
Notification permission is controlled through iOS settings.
How Information Is Used
BulkBro processes information as necessary to:
- provide calorie and weight tracking;
- calculate and adapt calorie targets;
- maintain seven-day tracking weeks and weekly calorie-target updates;
- provide progress and learning information;
- estimate meal nutrition;
- provide saved-meal and food-logging functionality;
- manage subscription access;
- deliver requested reminders;
- analyze product usage and performance;
- maintain security and integrity;
- improve BulkBro.
Third-Party Services
BulkBro relies on third-party platforms and services that may process information under their own privacy terms.
These may include Apple, Google/Firebase, OpenAI, and infrastructure involved in AI-assisted meal estimation.
The information processed by each service depends on the feature used and the user's device/privacy settings.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored BulkBro data remains on the device until deleted through the app, removed with the app where applicable, or otherwise removed through device-management mechanisms.
Third-party providers may retain information according to their own policies and retention requirements.
Where BulkBro provides a Delete Everything control, it is intended to remove BulkBro's locally stored user data and reset applicable local app state.
It cannot necessarily delete information independently retained by Apple or other third-party services.
Data Security
BulkBro uses reasonable technical measures and platform security features intended to protect information.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
BulkBro is not intended for children under 13.
Users under 18 should not use BulkBro for weight-gain planning without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian and, where appropriate, a qualified healthcare professional.
Changes to This Policy
BulkBro may update this Privacy Policy as the product, technology, or legal requirements change.
The updated policy will display a revised Last Updated date.
